Many young people are being hit hard by the housing crisis. Together, we are even more able to influence and change.
Part of the association's activities is to inform young people about their rights in the housing market. We also support young people looking for housing with the means at our disposal: we compile lists of housing agencies and landlords and we collect tips on what to consider when looking for housing. We are also available to answer questions about the housing market and housing.
One of our main goals is to create an equal and fair housing market. We want to see a social housing policy now - a policy that shifts the focus from market forces to everyone's right to a safe home, adapted to their own needs. Therefore, we push our issues towards politicians, those in power and the industry as an active voice in the social and housing debate.
Through our work, we want to strengthen the commitment and knowledge of our cause among young people. Therefore, we hold training in housing policy and training relevant to young people's organizing, such as advocacy work, board work, association knowledge and leadership. We offer a housing academy for our active members, lectures for our members and external housing policy training for young people and those in power.
Society has a statutory responsibility to provide housing for all. Despite this, hundreds of thousands of young people are without a home of their own. Often, we have neither the waiting time required for a first home nor the opportunity to buy a home.
When you are instead left to the mercy of an expensive and insecure secondary market, fickle landlords and short-term contracts, you can easily find yourself in difficult, unpleasant or even dangerous situations.

Refused to turn on the radiators
The heat went out of my radiators one day. It was in March and it got cold in the whole apartment. When I called my landlord, nothing happened for weeks, then she stopped answering...
The landlord stalked me
I found a place as a lodger quite quickly. My landlord seemed nice at first, but after a while he started stalking me on all social media and sending inappropriate pictures...
Lost the deposit
I moved three times just last fall. In one of the places, I was not allowed to bring friends home for those I rented from and when I moved I never got the deposit back...
